Farm-to-Table Luxury: Navigating the Ojai Sunday Farmers' Market Like a Local

In Ojai, Sunday mornings are more than just an errands run—but everyone gathers at the Ojai Certified Farmers’ Market to get a VIP on the famous Ojai’s locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables!

Head over to Matilija Street (just behind the Arcade) any Sunday morning. They’re out there from 9:00 until 1:00, regardless of the weather.

But first, let’s look at the market rules and etiquettes

Leave the dogs at home. We love them, but the market has a strictly no dogs policy.

The early bird gets the Pixies. There are items that often sell out immediately, so make sure that you’re there as early as you can!

Bring Your Own Tote: Some vendors have moved away from plastic so it's much preferred to have your own market totes or baskets to minimize waste.

The Gold Standard: Ojai Pixie Tangerines

Try visiting Ojai between March and May, you are in what we call the "Pixie Season." This seedless, ultra-sweet citrus is Ojai’s most famous export.

The Legit Source: Head directly to the Friend’s Ranches booth. Their family has been growing citrus here for many years now. For the 2026 season, larger and incredibly juicy fruits are definitely popular thanks to the heavy winter rains.

Pro Tip: If you miss out on the Pixies, their fresh-squeezed orange juice is a year-round necessity and is also the best!

The Culinary Essentials

Planning to stock a luxury Ojai kitchen? Try these vendors:

  • Ojai Olive Oil: Their family has been making some of the world's best olive oil for generations now. This is surely a must-added ingredient in your kitchen.

  • Blue Ridge Honey: This honey is a consistent Sunday staple at the market. One of their best is the Sage Honey. Don't forget to check this out.

  • Earthtrine Farms: For the freshest specialty produce and herbs Don’t miss out on these certified organics!

The Post-Market Ritual

Now that your bags are full of local bounty, time to head over for a refreshing coffee

Visit the Beacon Coffee for a nitro cold brew, or grab a seasonal "Pixie Tart" from The Dutchess (if it's spring!).
